Welcome to the new Traffic Signals Committee
Networked traffic signals, perhaps the first intelligent transportation system devices, are a vital and evolving part of our transportation network. Shared communications systems with other ITS devices enable unlock even more capabilities, including rich data for understanding and planning for our changing multi-modal transportation needs. There are opportunities and benefits for a wide range of traffic signal project and system types as well as a wide range of operating agency sizes and priorities.
Proposed Upcoming Traffic Signals Committee Activities:
- Local Signal State of the Practice Report
- Virtual Information Sessionson Signal Operations Topics
- In-person Municipal Signal Town-Hall
We have just re-launched this New Jersey-focused committee as a collaborative effort of professional societies. It is composed of a diverse and growing group of engineering, planning, and related professionals from the public, private and academic sectors, including ITS New Jersey (ITSNJ), Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE), and the County and Municipal Traffic Engineers Association (CAMTEA). |
